Steve is the current Director of Photography I.T. & Imaging of the
Society. He has built his own observatory and uses his 10" Schmidt Cassegrain
telescope for, Prime Focus, Piggy-Back and Eyepiece Projection Astrophotography.
He has also adapted a Connectix Quick Cam VC for use in Astro Imaging.

Connectix Quick Cam VC Photos (Lens Removed & Adaptor Made To Attach CCD)
Craters Petavius, Snellius and Stevinus ,near the terminator, taken on
2nd May, 1999, with the Quick Cam at Prime Focus of my 10" Meade LX50.

Mars, taken on 2nd May, 1999, with above telescope, but, this is at f30.
My First Attempt at Prime Focus Astrophotography:
M42 The Orion Nebula, with my Meade 10" LX50. A 5 minute guided
exposure at f 6.3.

My First Attempts at the Piggy-Back Method :
The Galaxies M81 & M82 at centre of field, again taken with a
200mm Telephoto lens mounted on my Meade LX50 telescope for guiding. This
exposure was also 4 minutes at f/4.5 on P1600 developed at ISO 400.

The Open Cluster M35 in Gemini, same method as above.

Open Cluster M44 "Praesepe or Beehive" in Cancer, same method as
above.

The Pleiades Open Cluster in Taurus, same method as above.

Jupiter taken by the "Eyepiece Projection" method:
This exposure was for a half second at f60 on ASA 200 film.
Sun Spots Using A Solar Filter:
Taken on the 13th March, 1999, at f26.
